From January 2017 up until December 2018, the project “SELMA” brought together three institutes in Gelsenkirchen’s Science Park, namely the Institute for Work and Technology (IAT), the Institute for the local history of Gelsenkirchen (ISG) and the research institute for preventive and innovative job design (FIAP e.V.). Those institutes had the chance to investigate and analyze from three different perspectives, together with partners with practical experience, which problems recognized refugees have to face in integrating into the labor market and which solutions may be generated.

The IAT and the FIAP e.V. jointly looked at supportive and restraining factors of the labor market integration of recognized refugees. Together with practically experienced partners, scenarios and policy recommendations, aiming at a more individual approach of analyzing and defining hard- and softskills, could be generated. The ISG examined the current situation in relation to historic links.

After two successful meetings of the advisory board, we would like to invite you to our final advisory board meeting as well as our closing event. You are welcome to discuss the project’s results as well as policy recommendations and ways to implement them.

In our flyer and invitation, you can find more information about the program and how to suscribe to our event on December 11, 2018!  We are looking forward to welcoming you on December 11!
