On June 25, 2025, three student teams from grades 10 and 11 at the German School of Athens were honored for their innovative green business ideas. The award ceremony took place as part of a career orientation event jointly organized by FIAP e.V. and the German-Greek Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DGIHK).

The awarded ideas were developed during the school’s career orientation day on May 21, 2025 – a day dedicated to sustainable entrepreneurship and hands-on career guidance for the jobs of the future. With the support of FIAP and DGIHK, the teams are now pursuing an ambitious goal: founding their own student-led companies with a strong focus on environmental awareness, resource conservation, and social impact.

This project not only fosters entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, but also clearly demonstrates how young people can actively contribute to the green transition and a sustainable economy. By developing their own ideas, taking on responsibility, and gaining initial entrepreneurial experience, they strengthen key future skills – such as teamwork, problem-solving, self-organization, and sustainability awareness – while receiving targeted support in their transition from school to the world of work.

It is therefore all the more important to expand such initiatives in the future: The goal is to implement similar formats at more schools in Greece to provide young people with perspectives, orientation, and opportunities to realize their potential in the context of a sustainable, fair, and forward-looking society. In this way, we can contribute not only to combating youth unemployment and lack of career orientation, but also to making social transformation tangible – and amplifying the positive impact of small, local initiatives far beyond their immediate setting.

We warmly congratulate all participating teams and look forward to supporting the next steps on their journey!
