Coffee and digitalisation in the Science Park

On 04.09.2019 the entrepreneur breakfast of the economic initiative Gelsenkirchen took place at CoWin in the NewWorkLab of the Science Park. The FIAP, which is responsible for the model project CoWin, received representatives of different companies and institutions from the region in the Coworking Space for a cosy “networking” with coffee and breakfast. Dr. Rüdiger Klatt presented the goals of the model project to the participants and explained the different aspects that are investigated within CoWin. This particularly includes the question of improving existing working models through the use of new digital technologies in the form of Smartboard and Virtual Reality. The possibilities of such technologies were presented by Felix Magdeburg from WeAre, Timon Thöne from viality and Milan Rajcic from CNS. The attendees experienced how a Smartboard, which can be used as a beamer, computer and flipchart at the same time, works with all its extras. Thus the tasks in the office can be made considerably easier. In addition, VR and AR technology was presented and everyone was invited to try it out. There were different applications to test: a conference software for remote sessions, the possibility to display own products via augmented reality and the digital twin of a production hall. The event provided many impulses for everyone and we are happy about the positive feedback. Many thanks to the economic initiative Gelsenkirchen and everyone who took part in the morning!

For everyone who is curious about VR, we recommend the interview with Felix Magdeburg about remote working, what conference software can do and how virtual reality will change the future.
