Experience green professions and careers first hand
The German-Greek joint project GRÆDUCATION (www.graeducation.org) and the Greek OAED are organising a Green Future Day for girls in Athens with the support of other Greek and German organisations and institutions. We cordially invite you to this event.
When?: on 10 June 2019, from 16:00 to 20:00.
Where?: Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center.
Greek schoolgirls between the ages of 10 and 16 will have the opportunity to experiment with green technologies, find out about career opportunities and new training paths and get to know companies in their region. Above all, however, they should discover their own technical skills and sharpen their interest in future technologies.
In workshops and participation stands, 300-400 female visitors will experiment with solar, wind and smart home energy, experience virtual realities and gain their first insights into the world of work. Companies and vocational schools will provide information about training opportunities and career opportunities in the field of green technologies. There will also be playful activities and a competition in which attractive prizes can be won.
Girls’ Day in Greece – why?
Career orientation up close: Girls are to spend a day looking behind the scenes of technical, craft and above all green occupations and discovering new job profiles for themselves. A concept that is urgently needed in Germany and Greece because only a few girls have decided to pursue a career in technical occupations. At the same time, many companies complain about a shortage of skilled workers. Green technologies are a growth market in Greece and offer good prospects for the future. Over the next few years, the demand for skilled workers will continue to grow. Girls’ Day is a small step towards securing young talent!
You will shortly receive a preliminary programme and further information.
